Re: RAW mode and underlying protocol (CP995)

The 990 and 885 support the 'standard' protocol via USB, but not the 'Extended' protocol that the MC-EU1 uses. I've heard that not many of the other Coolpix cameras support either protocol via USB, but that's third hand news.

Note that the DigiSnap 2000 series controllers use both the standard and extended protocols, switching back and forth as needed... The DigiSnaps and the MC-EU1 use the serial port of the cameras, not the USB.

Yes, I think it is possible to send MC-EU1 commands via USB just
like other commands, we should give it a try.

Hi, Alex, late yesterday I was able to send some commands via USB
to the camera, using the protocol discovered by E. Crosser
(photopc). Specifically, I could change to REC mode (sets TFT on),
shoot and change zoom (I didn't test any other operation). But I
couldn't make MC-EU1 commands to work (by sending a 1B 53 06 00 00
11 02 00 00 10 23 00) , so please let me know if you succeed, I'm
very interested.

Thanks a lot.
