G5 is not so good for off-camera flash work

I'm not Jeff but I can tell you my G3 triggers the flash in continuous drive mode if the flash can recycle fast enough.

So does my EPM1.

Not so with the G5. If there's a flash or trigger in the shoe, or if the built-in flash is engaged, it will only fire one shot in any of the continuous drive modes.

For example, placing my bubble level in the shoe does not disable the continuous drive whereas you say it would on the G5.

I have no experience with the G5 and bubble levels or other passive devices--only with flashes and triggers.

Are you sure there is not a tiny little switch under the spring on the shoe? My G3 does not have one but my FZ20 did.

I don't see anything in the hotshoe resembling a switch.
