5DmarkIII underexposed by 2/3 stop

the bottom left part of this scene is very bright and there are some bright/reflecting elements in the scene. Underexposures are normal in these conditions. Furthermore, the 5DIII seems to try preserving highlights more than previous Canon cameras that I used (i.e., it tends to preserve also highlights in single color channels from burning).

The exposure is computed by the camera to obtain a good image of an "average scene"; it is up to you to tune the parameters to obtain what you want (or, as Ansel Adams would have said, "the image that you pre-visualized").
