that's right. i held one at the photokina, this is how it works: there's a little switch on the lens, with which you can choose either auto or manual aperture. in auto obviously you don't turn the aperture ring, while in manual aperture (or aperture priority, which comes to the same thing) you do - all the while reading out the chosen aperture on the LCD-screen or in the viewfinder.

no aperture values on the lens, as these values are relative to the focal distances you set.
