In many cases photographer has no possibility to sit and relax, he is forced to look at the scene thru the VF most of the time. That's when resolution and dynamic range of VF become important. You have to see the scene in full detail in order to catch right moment.

And yes - OVF is not 100% exact preview of final image. Final image will look much-much better, but OVF gives a hints about what could go wrong and allows to adjust the setting before the shoot is taken.what could go wrong.
