Re: HX30V: Disappointing Image Quality

Seeing as Sony were able to achieve what most people believed was unachievable with the RX100 by fitting that 1" sensor into a small body, would the law of physics make it possible to do the following, possibly as part of the HX line-up or even the RX line-up with better aesthetics and added functions?

1/1.7" 14mp sensor
10x optical zoom
f1.x - f2.x lens (RX)
Metal body (RX)

I realise that a large sensor and long zoom should not mix well due to physics, but how much depth would actually be added for a compromised 10x zoom lens?

I would definitely be interested in buying a camera that achieved the middle ground of the HX and RX.
