Like mentioned above, adjusting some of the camera settings should provide the IQ that you want.

Prior to getting my first DSLR, I used a superzoom, so when I took the first set of photos with the DSLR, I felt that something was amiss . . . until I dialed in the correct settings (sharpness, contrast, exposure compensation, etc.). Now, I’ve purchased an FZ200 to replace my FZ35 and I caught myself doing the same thing again. In my haste to see how the cameras compared, I overlooked those settings on the FZ200 that need to be “dialed in” to get optimum photos. For my camera, adjusting the noise (-1) and increasing the sharpness (+1) seems to a good starting point.
