The afterword in the 400L vs. 100-400L controversy :)

400L is a "telescope" with its all advantages and disadvantages:

  • physical length + flange is not significantly smaller than focal length

  • high minimum focusing distance

  • not too fast autofocus without limiter

  • only few elements so decent contrast and decent resistant to flare even with old coatings

  • very good resolution

  • not heavy
