Nikon 1, spot-metering and AF modes

I just noticed that in follow focus spot-metering will keep using the centre AF point and won't use the activated focus point (that is following the subject).

I re-read the manual and it says it will use the centre AF point in Auto Area AF. I assumed that this means that in all other AF modes the highlighted AF point will be used.

This is not the case. Only in single point AF spot-metering will use the selected AF point (and in face recognition AF it will use the closest AF point to the detected face).

This is something to keep in mind, took me a few seconds to realize while trying to get a good exposure metering from a off centre subject.
