The difference between the 2 in IQ is, from a practical sense, extremely small. So small in fact that 100% pixel peeping must be used to discern it. The difference between the two on operation, build quality and features is quite large in favor of the A99. To the practical photographer operational aspects are much more important. Why do you think Canon remains #1 despite the fact their sensors are out dated and can't compete with the newer Sony sensors at a pixel level. It's because such minute differences in IQ aren't that important to the vast majority of Pros and serious amateurs.
