I've had an SX40 HS since last May, and whilst I like it for most of my "note-book" style snapping, I was surprised that the rolling shutter effect showed when I videoed a canal narrow boat passing me at around 3mph... And my 5D II does pretty badly when videoing high speed trains. Fortunately, my camcorders don't appear to suffer from the effect in normal use.
