Do you think DX will disappear in the future?

a lot hinges on D400

Nikon has not revealed their hand on future DX support. I think the release or non-release of a D400 level camera will say a lot about how committed Nikon is to the DX format.

Given the fact that there have been relatively few new DX lenses from Nikon lately may imply that Nikon is intending DX only for the entry level DSLR market. If they can produce a $2,100 FX body now, they can probably produce a $1,500 FX body in 2 or 3 years. Where would that leave a D400? Probably nonexistent.
