The Sony mavica CD300 that I bought in 2001 has only 3.1 megapixels. And it still makes very good photo's. But it can't do that in low light or when half of the subject is in the shade and half in the sun.

My D7000 can do all that and a lot more. But with enough light and if the subject isn't too difficult (shade, contrast and so on), it's sometimes hard to see the difference between that old Sony and the D7000.

But I don't think I upgrade to casually. My Nikon is my second digital camera.
