Yes, the Vivitar 70-210mm can be used for shooting sports like all manual lenses, but you must be aware of the following limitations:

  • It is a manual lens, so you will need to learn how to quickly and accurately focus manually

  • The lens will be over 900g with the adapter, so I think that a tripod (at least a monopod) will be necessary

  • It may be rather difficult to shoot some sports activities, though. What kind did you have in mind ?
