A similar, but FF friendly, set would be:

Sigma AF 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 HSM DG II
Canon EF 24-105 f4 L IS
Canon EF 70-200 f4 L IS

What I have and use are the following (again FF friendly):

Samyang 14 f2.8
Tamron 28-75 f2.8
Canon EF 70-200 f4 L IS
Sigma 150-500 f5-6.3 OS

I also have some APS-C lenses such as the Tokina 12-24 f4 and other primes> Canon EF 85 f1.8 and Canon EF100 f2.8 L IS.

Thanks for the comments. I think that ff is many years away for me so I am not too worried about the one EF-S in the list. The 10-22 has a slightly better max aperture and gets good reviews.

Can I ask why you suggest the 70-200 L over the 70-300 L?

Well, size and weight for start (760 gr versus 1050 gr) and a constant f4. Secondly, on a APS-C body, the 70-200 f4 L IS is one of the two sharpest zooms available on Canon (the other being the 70-200 f2.8 L IS II). Third, if you want to get a bird or a plane, 300 mm is not enough (that is the great advantage of the EF 100-400). In my case, I have the Sigma 150-500 which is normally glued at 500 mm for those purposes.
