I am American living/workin in Europe and the only time I have ever heard of someone paying a couple to be their wedding photog is a craigslist ad posted on this forum a few weeks back - in America...and I think even that was a case of a typo.
Would definitely double check those "facts".

There are people willing to do it for free to expand their portfolios, which is expected. I would never hire someone like that for my these people aren't really taking business away from established pros, I dont think, not yet. The type of client who will agree to a free shoot for such an important event will have commesurate expectations and will be unwilling to pay

Good point. I see a few good ones around here fully booked at high prices shooting the big ones
