Also , no matter what, if video, is a priority, as it should be with young children, don't listen to everyone here, because some just don't know what they are talking about, but think they do. It's up to you to seek out those who have experience. An example would be someone telling you to get a tamron 18-250, which has a very noisy mechanical focus motor which migrates into your video...You would not want to listen to someone like that who, first of all ,does not listen to your priorities, that being video.. And then give you the worst possible advice...that is to get a Tamron 18-250... Now the Tamron 18-270 has a whisper quiet piezo drive motor and will not migrate to your video. There are many legends in their own mind here on this forum.. its up to you to identify them. You can also find some of the most passionate and intelligent photographers on this forum, unfortunately the legends in their own mind far out weigh the real photographers. I respect dozens of photographers on this forum and listen when they speak... I also have dozens of people on this forum, who Ive put on ignore, because anything they say is valueless..
