This set up will be mostly for smaller objects and not a lot of portraits. The only reason I mentioned headshots was that I wanted a set of free standing light recommendations and not the cloth cube enclosure for shooting pictures on ebay.

Less is more

From what I understand the use of strobe light is recommended for portrait photography because it doesn't heat up as much and uses less electricity, or is there more to it?
