We have a great variety of cockatoos down here. Most are common and some are considered pests by farmer. The Red-tailed Black Cockatoo is endangered which is a worry.

Most cockatoos can be rehabilated to go back into the wild as long as they healthy. They can be domesticated but most have terrible screeching calls which would be annoying to live with.

Don't see any cockatiels in the south east corner of Australia as they tend to live in arid or semi-arid areas of the country.
