Welcome to my ignore list.

If you have an axe to grind, why don't you find somewhere more appropriate instead of a photo thread.

What do you consider "a good run"?

  • That it grossly failed to live up to it's promise as an inexpensive and efficient way to deliver payloads into low-Earth orbit with fast turn-around times?

  • That one-third of the fleet exploded and killed everyone aboard?

  • That it was out-lived (and superseded in utility) by vastly cheaper Russian Soyuz spacecraft designed in the 1960's?

My impression that some aerospace contractors had a good run on the U.S. taxpayers. The Space Shuttle represents a big piece of history for the U.S. space program but the story isn't as altogether patriotic and positive as many people would want.

Thoughts and remembrance to the brave souls who died in the Challenger and Columbia disasters. May they rest in peace with honor along with all astronauts who died while serving their country and humanity.
