Re: seeking some advice regarding a purchase

Just one more comment. When I got a DSLR i was pixel peeping the pics, expecting it to do wonders. Since you'll get the K5 or K30, in a sense it will (I have the K5 and its an amazing camera). My K100 didn't but I learned to love the little camera.

Depending on the lens it might not work very well for interior shots in a normal light house. So if you plan to take pics like that, make sure you get a fast (large max aperture) lens and there's not really something as good / cheap as the plastic wonders: the new 50mm 1.8 (portraits) or the 35mm 2.4 AL (full body shots, kids moving around).

Just a friendly warning, so you enjoy your purchase more.

Shots with the 35mm:

The following 2 are not interior shots but maybe still useful - I only got the 35mm relatively recent and kicked myself in the head for not doing it ages ago, considering how cheap it is!

Shots with the ancestor of the 50mm 1.8 - the manual focus A version

(Note that I do crop a lot on computer)

Hope this helps!
