Re: D600 lenses

According to Photozone, very few lenses can out-resolve the D3x sensor. Amongst them the 200/2 VR, the Zeiss 100/2 and the 70-200 VR II (@ 70 mm) at their best apertures.

Therefore, according to PZ tests the 24 Mpix D3X sensor does not limit the resolution of most lenses, which seem - consequently - to be the 'bottleneck' in the image formation chain.

So I wonder how a lens that can't out-resolve the D3x could be 'sharper' on D800 ...

Finally, in my previous post I just reported the words a very experienced photographer, who actually uses D800, D3X and the best Nikkor lenses (from 14-24 to 600/4). I skipped his comments about the borders IQ of the 70-200/2.8 VR II when used on D800. I do not want to start a flame war
