Re: K-30 + ? lenses

One point to consider is that when photography is combined with family activities, birthday parties, holidays, visits to the zoo etc it is frustrating for all concerned if the photographer has to fiddle about changing lenses. The DA18-135 makes a lot of sense as it covers a most useful range - 27-200mm in 35mm terms. the DA18-55 is sometimes a bit short though this depends on your style of photography.

The DA18-135 is also a really nice lens in use. It is not much bigger than the kit lens, is weather sealed, focuses fast and silently and provided you get a decent copy is pretty sharp in the centre of the image though softer in the corners. Like all super zooms it has some distortion particularly at the wide end but this is easily corrected either in camera (JPEG) or in pp (RAW). Later when finances admit adding a few primes (the Limiteds are lovely) and if a longer lens is needed the DA55-300 is a good choice.
