Hi Bob,

Well, this was not an off topic post at all - in many cases pics just have aesthetic value but sometimes what matters more are stories behind them. You look at a photo / photos and your mind begins to wander on its own. It is true that we tend to take for granted our peaceful environment and forget who we owe it to.

Our today's exploration of the 1944 crash site was a success. All plane elements were surprisingly well preserved in clay, they were not corroded at all after so many years of being buried underground. We retrieved MG 131 machine guns, ammunition, a complete Daimler-Benz engine and a lot of other parts from the Messerschmitt's cockpit. Sure I will post a few pics soon, merely because it is just another great story and because I happened to witness it with a camera in hand.
