Hybrid AF compatibility "old" SEL lenses

Today I had a chance to look at a NEX-6 brochure somebody brought from photokina. On the last page it lists the already announced 4 compatible lenses "after firmware update" unless bought as a kit with the NEX-6, as well as the PZ16-50. Then it says, other lenses will only work with contrast-AF. All new lenses will be compatible with hybrid AF.

That means that the excellent SEL50 I just bought 4 months ago and that just came out 6 months ago won't support hybrid-AF!

Somehow that looks like an organizational mess at Sony. For a system that's just 2 years old that's too many incompatibilities. Sony's own super-wide lenses come with some IQ issues on the NEX-7 and lenses that are just half a year on the market are not compatible with newer camera technology. Sony needs to work on that.
