Portfolio

I know this is a 'loaded' question but I'm after opinions anyway.

When you create your portfolio should you have a large variety of photos/styles in it or should you concentrate on what you 'specialize' in?

A large variety would show your diversity and range of skills. Whereas a specialized portfolio would show that each of your photos weren't simply one off 'flukes'.

I've found myself in a situation where a gallery is wanting/selling one of my styles. Whereas I would rather be know for a range of skills.

Would you go with what the market wants or would you rather be know as an allround photographer?

regards
