Re: Newer style almost self priming carts for Epson R2000

Hi jtoolman,

I have two sets of those cartridges, but I prefer to repriming everytime I refill them for two reasons: a) to garantee priming condition, b) to fill those little chambers at the right side of the cartridge, which house additional 2mL of ink (I keep the top little chamber free of ink for the sake of a good venting). The main chamber does only fit between 14 and 14.5 mL. This volume is dangerously lower than the estimation made by the printer driver, raising the risk of running out of ink when printing huge batch of pictures. I wonder chinese engineers could develop a cartridge as tall as the OEM one, which could fill the nominal 17mL of ink plus a reserve of, would say, 3mL. That would be perfect.

By the way, how do you protect the exit port against the effect of ink drying caused by low humity and/or longer stocking periods?
