Isn't it time for cameras to have carbon fiber or advanced plastic DSLR bodies?

I've admired how carbon fiber is used in race cars and always wondered if it would be a suitable material to incorporated into a camera design? However, one thing I wonder is why Canon stopped doing the polycarbonate bodies, like my amazing Canon EOS-1? That camera is like a brick and doesn't dent like magnesium or aluminum bodies if bumped.

Is it time for advanced super light materials other than magnesium and aluminum to be used to build cameras? Couldn't advanced plastics provide lighter and stronger more weatherproof DSLR bodies?
