Re: Olympus Owner Needs Camera Buying Advice

I've been an Olympus user since the mid 70's, owning an OM-1 and OM-2.

Switcing to digital with a Olympus D-600L, then a C-2020, C-5050, and finally E-500.

I always believed Olympus was sensibly innovative and producers of very reliable equipment. I never had an Olypmpus camera fail on me. (Unlike my brief foray with a Canon.)

While I was an early believer in Micro 4:3, I didn't like the direction Olympus took and went for the Panasonic G1.

When I felt the that 4:3 would never achieve the image quality of FF I took on a Sony A850 and the A580 as a back-up. Sony is another company, responsible for excellent innovation...unlike C&N.

When Olympus announced the OM-D, I saw the samples and read the reviews...
I bought one since I still had all those great lenses.
Do not regret that choice at all.

I still resort to the A850 for landscape work, but my OM-D is my constant companion now.
