Re: wishful thinking

Sounds about right. I honestly expect equal to worse low light performance than the 5D2.

I am befuddled by Canon. You have 2 cameras within $100 of each other. One with an okay build quality and another with a polycarb body. Both have antiquated focusing. One has GPS/WIFI and shoots a bit faster.

It honestly looks like they took they 5D2 and put it in a crappier body and slapped on WIFI/GPS.

If I were new into the DSLR market, this would be a no brainier for the Nikon D600.

Its easy to make the opposite argument. I think at best equal performance to the higher MP count 5D III - especially in RAW. They don't mention mircrolenses or gapless sensels on the sensor that would allow for better IQ. This is a less expensive sensor to manufacture and the lack of those features is a possible reason for the lower pixel count. It probably is older hardware mated to newer software. The DIGIC 5 will allow for noise reduction and some of the other corrections to make for nice JPGs.
