The advice so far has been great so thank you. Let me put it another way. If I keep my 24-105 and 10-22 (and my 35mm F2 which I forgot to mention) what will be my best option for an indoor lens, when not using flash, to allow for reasonably wide and a reasonable zoom. The 17-55 F2.8 would do this but I really don't want to carry around both the 17-55 and a 24-105 lens.

If you're limiting yourself to a general-purpose-range zoom, faster than f/4, there really aren't many options, and IMO the 17-55 is probably the best option for a crop body. Which brings you right back to where you are.

If I were you I think I'd keep the 17-55, and when you're in a position to do so, sell the 24-105 and buy a 70-200 f/4 IS.

The 17-55 is fantastic lens on a crop, I almost went for the 24-105 but glad I chose the 17-55, I also added the 70-200 f4L IS, this is a great combo on a crop body, I use the 35L as well but it doesn't get as much use as the 17-55.

I find even with f2.8 I still have to bump up the ISO to at least 800 indoors but you said your 60D is still good for ISO 1600.
