Re-read the post you commented on. The 6d spec sheet says 11 points but only 1 cross-type. The other poster is suggesting less points but more precise. If Canon had created some magic that enabled the non-cross points in this camera to be better it would have been in the announcement.

The point you seemed to have glossed over is the non center points -regardless of count - aren't very accurate because they're not at least cross-type. Not every shooter uses center point only.

I agree with the other poster - less points, but useful points would have been better.
