How can I improve the composition of these photos?

Go back and try again....

Go back to the park at a time of day there is a more interesting sky. Then go back to where you took this shot and step forward untill the tree on the left is no longer in the frame.

Tilt the camera up and turn in into landscape mode. Make sure you catch more of the bridge, with only trees on the right. And catch some more sky, make sure the horizon is at 2/3 of the picture, not in the middle as it is now.

Will that make it a fantastic shot? I have no idea. But it sure is nice to try. My message being: Go back and shoot the same subject many times, in many ways. Dedication is what makes a good photographer!
