I think the NEX-7 firmware is now obsolete

I think that Sony may be going in the direction of their Alpha firmware for the new NEX bodies. I have a RX100 and its firmware is a lot better than the NEX-7. I noticed that the new NEX models have gained a mode dial - the same as the RX100 and the RX1. A few screen shots, and the fn buttion on the NEX-6 seem similar to the RX100. Sony may have come to the conclusion that it doesn't make sense to maintain 2 different firmware systems: 1 for the Alpha and RX, and the other for the NEX. This may be the reason we haven't seen an update to the NEX firmware in a very long time, despite every reviewer and forum screaming for improvements.
