Re: DX vs FX J1 V1 Will the viewfinder work for fast action such as birding though?

Agreed. I have a decent array of birding lenses, but waiting for the new 80-400 -- the current one is horrible to work with in any but ideal light. May I ask a stupid question (one which I have researched but have yet to find an answer I can understand)? DX lenses? FX lenses? I don't get the distinction...

$2K for the D600 may be a little steep for you unless you already have some 70-300 VR & other FX lens already in your collection. Add $500 to get a new FX 24-85 to cover the 18-55 kit lens range in FX.

You may b e best off waiting to see if you can afford $3K to have a nice outfit. Could be too high a price to pay for a hobby weekend shooter. Could be a nice price to get into pro work & get paid to do some work!
