Camera makers do tack on extra names. Rebel, Coolpix, FinePix, Lumix, Merrill(Sigma), Stylus, etc. Sure, for many that name is used for a rather broad range of products, but so it is for cars. I.e. Honda Civic 2012 comes in 7 different flavors.

And there are plenty of car makes that don't use names: Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Infinity, etc.

Always thought E-Volt was the coolest.
