RX1 more proof of concept than useful?

I love innovation in photography! And kudos to Sony for intorducing a modern FF sensor into a compact camera!

But looking at the RX1 concept with a fixed 35mm f2 lens, I feel that the advantage of FF has been choked.

Yes, it is a very compact full frame camera with a fixed 35mm f/2 lens. But why not give it interchangable lenses or a faster f1.4 lens? Becaus it would make it bigger, right? So maybe the RX1 is not the size sweet spot for a FF compact then?

Here is why I think so:

APS-C sensors have recently gained a lot of ground in high ISO and DR, so the main advantage left for FF sensors is a better DOF control.

But a 35mm f/2 lens on the FF Sony will be in the DOF range of a 23mm f1.4 lens on an APS-C Sony NEX-7, Fuji X-Pro 1 or X-E1. And those cameras have great ISO quality, DR, EVF and interchangable lenses. And for the price differenc you can even buy 2-3 nice and fast lenses.

So while it is nice to see a FF sensor in a modern compact camera, this fixed 35mm f2 lens seems to really limit the main advantages of FF vs. APS-C...
