This is just nonsense. 108060p gives you the highest quality video; you can play the videos completely smoothly on any current laptop or netbook (yes, even the Atom-powered ones), and you can edit on any computer. Having a fast processor and good graphics card only makes render times faster. Not having these does not prevent you from any kind of editing. I have used Sony Vegas Pro on a netbook to edit 108060p videos.

Having the highest quality source is essential precisely because either editing or sharing requires recompression. Recompressing a low-quality video results in a really low-quality video.
