feel let down by dx lenses

i have been thing about this obtuse ivory tower subject for some time. now i see someone have down something about the lack of real good dx lenses.

the made for aps-c sensors dx sized lenses promised us higher quality lenses that are lighter and cheaper than full frame lenses for the smaller sensors. yer we did not get this. what we got was a limited range of lenses to recover the wide angler field of views lost by aps-c. but what about a full line of dx lenses. currently dx lenses stop at 300mm. but what if someone made dx prime at 500mm f4, how much cheaper would it be than a full frame 500 f4, how much weight would be lost as well.

pentax has just announced for photokina a dx 560mm f5.6 lens for $7000 list. now i am even more curious as to why all camera and lens makers have not moved to a more fuller dx lens lineup.
I have a picture,
pinned to my wall.
An image of you and of me and we're laughing and loving it all.
