The S95 had a lot of lens errors as well. Check the Amazon user reviews and seach "lens error"... or just Google it, so not to ruin your buzz, the S95 is no guarantee either

I am just relieved that I followed my instincts and went for the tried and trusted S95 at a time when it started to be replaced by the S100, letting others pay extra for battery-draining GPS, distorting extra 4mm wide-angle and the occasional high ISO advantage.

I sure hope Canon gets its act together.
