From Canon to Nikon after 20 years

Up until last weekend I was a Canon shooter. My kit was a 1D4 with a 300 2.8L, a 1ds3 with a 16-35L, a 70-200 2.8L, 580 flashes plus misc other bits. I have been shooting action sports for over 20 years, and for the past 14 years I have specialized in the motocross, and bicycle industries.

Well, I decided after much thought to give the Nikon D4 a look... Wow, the AF performance, lens sharpness, and overall image quality from the D4 is outstanding.

I shot the AMA Motocross National at Lake Elsinore in California on Saturday where I was told it got up to 104 degrees F, so it was quite the torture test for the new gear.

I primarily shot with a D4 and a 300 2.8 VRII, and the second D4 body with a 14-24, and also a 24-70.

Anyway... all in all very impressive from Nikon, and I think I have made the switch.

Here is a link to a Facebook gallery on the Racer X Illustrated page.
Thanks for looking.
