Re: Please stop judging it solely on the basis of its sensor size

After having grabbed the 'Q' - I can't say that I'm impressed. Bad ergonomics, typical small sensor performance, and the DOF limitations inherent to the type. Add to that a typically sluggish compact camera interface, and I have no doubt that the Q may have been one of the poorest concepts from Pentax in the digital age.

It's not the sensor size that's problem, but what a dedicated mind can do with it.

Pentax has shown they can make a small sensor camera better than anyone else, yet it carries a stigma, because of all other manufacturers' laziness. They never bothered to squeeze so much power out of a small size, or design amazing optics, controls and the image engine.

So don't judge it by its unsuccessful and unimaginative peers, or other cameras that perform well only because bigger sensor size allows them to (and everything else being modestly mediocre).

But instead grab it and judge just by itself.
