Okay, let's be fair. Your statement about Apple being something people like other than because of its quality and features wasn't a static, now-only statement.

True, but the only logical way to have a conversation about today is to limit the terms of comparison to today. Trying to say what could or couldn't happen five years ago makes for a very confusing conversation.

Even now, their products still offer some unique advantages.

Such as?

Saying they are a gimmicky, popular attraction success story isn't any more fair than suddently wanting to limit the discussion to this very second. That is not the context of this discussion for BOSE, so why is it reasonable to assume it is so for Apple?

I didn't say they were gimmicky, I said they were overpriced for what they offered, you agreed. Where's the gimmick comment come from?
