Many (including myself) have wondered aloud why so many of the pictures uploaded by Q shooters are B&W or otherwise 'arty' adventures. I found myself with the Q at a 'car hop' at a nearby Tiki Bar today (where else), and was snapping happily away. Twiddling a bit with my preset knob(a very useful feature of this little camera), I snapped the enclosed. I believe they are - natural, slightly saturated vibrant, and B&W w/yellow filter.

For me at least, changing the processing is just fun to see on the Q. A lot I think is like you say, the preset knob on the front is just so dang useful and convenient. Being an -old- Tri-X Pan user from the 70's, having instant B&W is very cool. Neither of my first 2 DSLR's had a B&W setting and my K-7 I just don't use the setting too much. It's just fun on the Q.
