Viewing 3d images

I have a Victorian viewer for glass slides called a Taxiphoto. I was wondering whether, in principle, if I bought, say a Fuji W3 or a suitable lens fora Panasonic G3,I could print the stereo images on a transparency film on an inkjet paper, hold it in some form of stiffener and view it through the Taxiphote?

I appreciate that the images will have to be adjusted for size to fit into the viewer and spaced as per the original glass slides.

Would this work or am I being too simplistic? The original glass slides are 4.5cm square and the images are 2.2 cms apart.
I would really appreciate any hep that you could give.
