A copy of the Mona Lisa is a copy of the Mona Lisa.

Add a moustache on it and it becomes sarcasm, but it doesn't compete on the art market as a Mona Lisa. It has a different function.

Well luckily that's only copyright. If Leonardo were Apple he'd have patented the idea of painting female portraits, and we'd all be in trouble.

What does "only copyright" mean?
I, and I think most photographers like copyright.
