Print photo in high resolution?
I took some photos for a friend's daughter year book. The requirement is that the photo be submitted as a printed 2.5 x 1.75 inch photo, no electronic submission.
Since the photo is so small, I want to get the maximum resolution on print to avoid losing too much detail. The photo file has a resolution of about 3500 x 2450, way higher than can be printed.
Is it better to print it on an inkjet (epson stylus photo R300), or go to a commercial digital to paper printer (in the usa)? If the later, do they all have the same print resolution, or is one better than the rest?
There are some sites that rate photo printing services. But they don't mention resolution, only printing quality as a whole. Has anyone submitted resolution test patterns to these printing services?
