Nikon 300/2.8 AFS II vs Canon 300/2.8 IS mk I

I am the owner of Nikon 300/2.8 AFS II that I use for astronomy on Canon 5D mkIII via adapter.

Do I have the possibility to take and test a Canon 300/2.8 IS mk I at a great price.

Why I'm thinking the switch:
1) fully coupling between body and lens and use the AF
2) I would have the IS (for terrestrials)

3) would have the possibility to use the Correction in camera for the aberration chromatic and vignetting (for jpg), and for the RAW via sw

4) the star test of Nikon shows a little of aberration spherical at f/2.8 and f/3.2 (tested on D7000), which disappears af/3.5. However, if the star test of the Canon will be great I could use it even at full aperture

5) Adapter Canon-Nikon produces not always perfect stars (even at f / 4) because I think of flexion of the adapter. Canon of Canon would not have these problems.

What do you think? If the Canon optically turns out better than the Nikon, switch?
