Switching from olympus 4/3

I am currently planning to switch from my Olympus E30, with a substantial investment in Olympus glass...14-54, 50 mm macro, 9-18, sigma 105 Macro, and 70-300, plus both Olympus and Metz flashes. At this point the full size 4/3 seems a dead end. The E5 is way too expensive for what you get.. The micro 4/3 do not focus legacy 4/3 lenses properly and the new m4/3 zooms all seem slow.

I've asked this question on the canon forum whether a 7d or 60d would be a good switch. I am not invested in in either canon or Nikon so thought I'd get the opinion from some nikon users. My interest in an upgrade is faster focusing, and much better low light performance.

The recent price cuts on the D 7000 makes it an attractive option.

Any thoughts on this change? Any other APS-C nikons i should consider?.

I am not a "pro" photographer but have substantial experience, usually shooting manual or aperture priority, and do modest post processing in Apple Aperture.

Photographic subjects run from wildlife/birding to a fair amount of UW work.
