Concur 100%. Once you have mastered the d90 you will know if you want to drop 5K for the body and a good all around lens.

How to master it (1) buy a book and (2) shoot like nuts and critique each shot. Keep a journal of what you shot, when and how, then after you have the images how you like them ask a couple of skilled photogs what you (1) did wrong and (2) did right. Try to eliminate #1 and maximize #2.

This is how to become a master...never stop trying.
